JOB DESCRIPTION

This role will support the analysis and development of processes and tools related to the investment portfolio. This person will report to the COO on UK Operations work and to the Portfolio Director on Portfolio Management.

Requirements

  • Relevant work experience in an operations/ IT management or Information Systems role
  • Strong organizational skills that reflect ability to multi-task and prioritise
  • Attention to detail, accuracy and organization skills; an aptitude for problem-solving and decision-making
  • Good working knowledge of CRM systems, cloud-based file sharing platforms and data management and security requirements for UK-based organisations
  • Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines
  • Demonstrated interest in social innovation and international development preferred
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including strong customer service skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office including Word, Excel and Powerpoint
  • Passion, humility, integrity, team player, and a spirited sense of humour

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

UK Operations

Manage insurance requirements for GIF’s UK operations including cyber liability insurance

Be a London-based point-of-contact in the administration of GIF’s CRM and file sharing systems, as far as they relate to information management and addressing portfolio management needs

Help to develop a data management strategy for GIF, including assessment of the implications of new GDPR legislation for the way that GIF does its work

Create a robust information security policy for GIF and work with third parties to put in place processes and tools to close any existing gaps

Portfolio Management

  • Review the use of Salesforce as an information management tool and suggest improvements to the design, functionality and management, as well as user adoption of the system
  • Work with the investment team to clarify, define and document deal-level information requirements in order to align software capabilities to our investment process, portfolio management and decision-making forums.
  • Consider the benefits of integrating Salesforce with other tools and internal systems to improve knowledge management and to generate compelling, visual analysis
  • Manage the amendments to Salesforce as required
  • Improve availability and analysis of deal-level information to improve GIF’s knowledge management function and internal information sharing
  • Design and generate reports to support portfolio management and performance monitoring
  • Support the investment team to keep centrally-held information up to date over the course of the investment period
  • Assist with planning up to 2 portfolio learning events in 2018
  • Support with the logistics for running the event, working with portfolio organisations, speakers and venue contacts as required
